Catching up!

So it's been WAY TOO LONG since my last post- and because I just dropped Trent off at the airport to head out for a week of training, I figured now would be a good time to take a minute and catch everyone up.

First of all, JENA SAVED MY LIFE and helped me clean my apartment so Trenton and I could get some of our deposit back (which by the way we got all that was possible to get back so thanks again sis!) and I will owe her forever for that! She doesn't know how much she helped! We appreciate you jena bean!

Second, we left Provo probably 4 or 5 hours after we intended, and headed for Boise. The plan was to stay with my Uncle John and Aunt Marty, but we only made it 30 minutes outside of Boise because it was already 1:00 am and I was a nervous wreck and it had just started storming outside, so much that we could only see literally JUST in front of our car. We had to stop for gas and decided that that would be a good place to just stay the night.

THEN - the next day, we were so blessed to have the passes all driveable and we made it safely home to Auburn! We were, however, ready for a week long hibernation I think, Trenton from driving all day in semi-crazy weather and with a tempermental car - and me from stressing about making it home safely. I really was a wreck the next few days and I felt so bad because Dan Jolyn and Sadie and Jena and Joey were all there already and I was such a grump AND snappy from being tired and stressed and I cried often as well. Being pregnant with all those extra hormones didn't really help the situation either. But they were good sports and put up with me! :0]

But the moral of the story was we made it safely (found out after we got back we had been driving on a flat but STILL miraculously made it home safely) and we had such a fun time with family!

We were snowed in here, (we thought we had left that crazy weather in Utah, but it definitely was here to make us feel right at "home") so we spent a lot of time playing around the house with Sadie, the Wii and games with the family. I wish everyone could still be here, especially that little sadie who, if you've seen the pictures know how cute she is, but is seriously a billion times cuter in person if you can even imagine! She is such a sweet girl and so full of personality and we just loved having here! Dan and Jolyn are such good parents too, and it was fun to see Dan as a dad.... weird but fun! Max and Sadie got along pretty well, which was surprising I think to all of us - it worked out because max would run away anytime he saw sadie coming, unless he was sleeping or too lazy and then sometimes he'd try and warn her away with a growl or some other scarying away tactic, but sadie would giggle and smack him anyway. Everyone around her was pretty good about helping to distract her when that happened and help her find something else to giggle at. Both Dan and Jolyn were good sports when this happened as well!

After the Smith gang left Trent and I spent a night in Victoria - which turned out to be SO relaxing and we definitely were spoiled! (thanks mom and dad little!) We purchased a few baby outfits (I couldn't resist) and I even found some maternity clothes that I actually liked! I wanted to buy a lot more actually, but decided just to get a few things since I would only be pregnant for so long. Everyone says it's better to have options, but for me -- I would be happy wearing my addidas sweats and a tee-shirt every day, sooo. Maybe I will buy some better quality clothes after Brooklin's born instead of investing in a hearty maternity wardrobe.

Then we spent a few days with the Littles and enjoyed playing games, shopping around, eating good food and trying to stay awake during movies. :0] Bud and Karen played some tennis in a league they recently joined, and we tried out some pickleball on Friday as well. I only made it through 15 or 20 minutes of playing before I started to feel a little dizzy, and happily volunteered to sit out the rest of the time. Pickleball is a little more moving around than I'm used to to begin with, and then with pregnant..., I probably made the best choice.

We ended the stay with the Littles with church and breakfast for a late lunch to break the Fast and then I took Trent to the airport.

Whew!

Now I'm feeling the wrath of turkey and wanting to take a nap. I just got through (or thru..!) telling Bud and Karen that I don't take naps these days, and now here I am at almost 8:00 pm ready to take a nap. Perhaps if I just wait another hour and a half or so I'll be ready to just go to bed. Usually when I try and do that though, I either forget about being tired, or I am SO TIRED and go to bed , but then am wide awake for for EVER and take forever to fall asleep.

Nap now it is!

Enjoy the new weather - and by the way, Brooklin just reminded me that she is SUPER STRONG and kicking frequently these days - as well as enjoying the seemingly new discovered toy of my bladder.

We can't wait to meet her! She's going to be a soccer player, I'm sure! Or a tumbler. We'll see!!

I know how you feel about maternity clothes. I couldn't find anything I liked for the longest time. Then I went to Ross and (surprisingly Walmart) and they had some great things. I actually wore a lot of my clothes several months after giving birth (I mean, it does take a little bit to get rid of all that extra around the belly!)

That is so exciting that you can feel her moving around so much (minus some of those harder kicks). You should post belly pictures so we can see how cute you are!!!!

Well it was only very discreetly announced on the blog via a picture from the October post about the chowder fest. I think it was on face book a little more prominently because people commented on the same picture from October. This is surprise baby #2 and now that I'm over the shock I'm excited for him to be here around March 1st.
