1 year older and wiser, too

Brooklin recently had her 3rd birthday! She has been such a big girl for so long, that it seemed "about time" that she turned three. I know that sounds silly, but since she has been speaking well for most of this last 3rd year, I often would forget that she was only 2. Especially when she was having a hard time with something and acting out because of it. I would have to think to myself, okay she IS only 2.

She had a family party on Sunday the 15th (the day before her birthday) and she loved having all of her grandmas and grandpas there, as well as Mark and Peggy. She got to eat "gelatin" and a rainbow birthday cake, both per her request. She was a happy girl! She was spoiled with lots of fun presents and attention.

We had a little friend party for her the next day, on her actual birthday, and she had a blast! She was SO ROWDY and loved having friends over to play with. We definitely need to invite friends over to play more often, just maybe on a smaller scale :) It really didn't seem like a birthday party because there were minimal decorations, no cake and no presents (per my request). But there was plenty of fun and even a little drama here and there, both of which are birthday party staples :) At least in my memory!

Many thanks to her friends who supported her and came to party on her birthday! She had a blast.

And, an especially big thanks to Peggy and my mom for coming to support ME, and to help with the kiddos. Peggy was so good - played with and read to kids the WHOLE TIME. And mom kept track of Mackenzi for me, so I didn't have to stress about where she was or how she was being  treated. Both of those things were really helpful, and I can't give my thanks enough for what it meant to me for you two to come!

I am so bad at taking pictures - I hope Karen and Peggy will have time to send me some of the pictures they took from Brooklin's family party (hint hint!) but I don't think anyone was taking pictures at the friend party. I need to be better at that, for sure.

I did take a couple pictures of the girls yesterday, and some videos as well - so I'll try and post those here for your viewing pleasure.

oh my goodness...Brooklin makes up songs that are so sweet! Just like you did when you were her age. Oh James, we sure love your sweeties and love to hear about them.
