Mr Man is 4 months!

First of all, I LOVE having my mom home for the summer vacation. I'm definitely going to look into working for the school district when I start working (if the working at an airline filled with FREE FLIGHTS thing doesn't work out, that is). I got to take Mr Andrew in for his 4 month check up and leave my two girlies with Nana. I love when it works out like that!

Andrew is looking GREAT medically speaking. And, his chubs are developing nicely as well. He has the SOFTEST skin that I LOVE to stroke and kiss. His little belly is particularly soft, and every time he gets a diaper or outfit change you can bet my hands are all over that cute little tummy.

His STATS:
16 lbs
25.5 "
head circumference? Who cares. I don't remember.

His height and weight are both in the 75th percentile. Is it true that boys are bigger than girls on average? Because to me, he seems off the charts... while still seeming super tiny at the same time. How does that work? I guess having my 2.5 year old Mackenz to compare to, he really IS tiny tiny.

I'm currently blogging at 11:15 pm, because this little cutie is awake and refusing to fall asleep. He wants to eat, I know he does, but it's 11 pm for goodness sakes! He has been doing this a few times the last couple of weeks, and usually I'll wait fifteen minutes and then feed him, but his doctor told me there's no reason for a baby of his size to be eating any earlier than 2 or 3 am. SO. I'm going in every 10 minutes or so and flipping him back on his tummy and then walking out. He's been up for 45 minutes now. I sure hope he falls asleep eventually! I mean, I know he will... eventually, but I hope that's like, the soon kind of eventually.

A little about my little man:

This is his first time where he's been up and crying (partly because I give in a feed him... but still.) He has been SO EASYGOING I am spoiled! I couldn't ask for a more chill baby. He smiles and laughs, especially for his Papa, and he coos like it's in style. Ha. I LOVE to hear him talk! He has the sweetest little baby voice. It's my favorite thing ever to hear! Especially when he's "talking" to his sisters. I love that they still love him, and still ask to hold him (although not nearly as much as when he was "newer"). Mackenzi is SO CUTE with him, I love to hear her ooh and awe over him, and it's usually at random times.

(I think he might have fallen asleep! I haven't heard him cry since a couple paragraphs ago! Crossing my fingers>...)

We're going on our first road trip since we moved here from Provo, which was when I was pregnant with Mackenz, and we therefore only had ONE munchkin to entertain/cater to. It will be a new experience for all of us, I think, to spend ALL DAY driving. I'm SO GRATEFUL we decided to get a van, and not just all squish into our little civic, because I can't even imagine how awful a roadtrip would be where I couldn't go back with the kids to help out with whatever, especially with having a young baby. He can't put his own binky in, so I imagine I'll be back there plugging in binkies, passing around books, and comforting/entertaining as necessary.

A few months ago we were asked if Trenton's parent's could borrow our van while his sister and her family are with them, which would have included this road trip (we're headed to a family reunion) and I started immediately stressing out about what we would do with this roadtrip! Seriously, it was the first thing that went through my mind. The proposal was to swap our van for his mom's CRV, which the car seats would have fit just fine in, but there would have been no room for me to sit back there with them, and I couldn't have put a car seat in the front seat so I could squish in the back with two of the kids because that's not safe... anyway, luckily they were able to figure something else out, because it's going to be tough enough without that added inconvenience. What can I say, I'm COMPLETELY converted to vans. It actually didn't take more than a few days of using it while being HUGELY pregnant for me to appreciate the genius invention that is a van.

Alright folks, he's officially asleep, so I"m officially going to read in bed. It's much more enjoyable when your munchkin is sleeping and not crying so sadly - that crying it out to fall asleep phase has officially hit, I guess. It's so sad! But so rewarding, for us both, I think, for him to learn to cope on his own and put himself to sleep. (At least I hope!!, otherwise, poor guy...)

(I'm currently reading the new Dan Brown book, and I'm not gonna lie, it's not as good as his other Robert Langdon books, at least not so far. It's taken me a whole week to get through like 100 pages... to give you perspective, the week before I started this book, I read 3 and a half books. I'm on a reading craze right now, but this one's just not doing it for me. Here's to hoping it gets better!)

Ha ha, I immediately typed in the code words here. I'm a dork.
Jami! I love hearing about little man Andrew! I cannot WAIT to come hear his voice in person in a few weeks.
Is it "Inferno" you're reading? I had a slow start to the "Lost Symbol" as well.
I hope you're now well rested and have fun on your road trip!!!
