a very merry half birthday, to YOU! ahem, to andrew...

Our little guy turned 6 months on Sunday, and had his 6 mo check up yesterday. He is doing great! He's such a joy. SO good to me, and so fun to love on!

He's TALL (90%) and a little chubby (75%) with an average head :) 

He's SO CUTE!

He is such an easy going baby - but sometimes, when he's in the mood, he can be super goofy. Today as I was trying to flip him over on my lap (he kept trying to roll onto his tummy) he started giggling. I tickled him a little instead of lifting him up and he started belly laughing! He's so random. If I were to tickle him in all the tickly spots any old time, he could care less. But if he's in the mood to laugh, he's gonna laugh, and it doesn't take much to help him do so.

He's still adored by his big sisters, and Brooklin is quick to put any potential Andrew takers at bay. If we're getting ready to leave somewhere and Andrew is being held by anyone but mom or dad she makes sure they know that they don't get to keep him. She is hilarious. 

We started Andrew on solids a week or two ago, and it was too messy and I'm pretty sure he didn't even swallow any of the cereal, so I hadn't given him any again since then. Until a couple of days ago when we were at lunch and he was hungry, but I didn't want to feed him right then, so I gave him the crust of my pizza to gnaw on, and he loved it! He's since had a few cheerios (to keep him happy during dinner and until tubby/bed time) and two more servings of rice cereal - and he actually ate the cereal this time. I'm excited to start the veggies and fruits to mix in with the cereal, because I know he'll LOVE it. He'll go crazy. Yesterday as I was feeding him some rice cereal he would get SO MAD if I took too much time getting him the next bite. He's still super messy, but I guess that's part of the learning process :)

We sure love our little man! I especially love seeing his personality come out more and more the older he gets. This baby, for me, has grown SO QUICKLY from newborn to 6 month old. He's no where near crawling, and I appreciate that because that means he gets to stay my baby baby for a while more. He's not even sitting up yet, so we've got a ways to go. 

I have noticed that I'm a lot more relaxed about what he does and whether it's "average" or not, and I think that's allowed me to just enjoy him and not constantly be worried about whether he's progressing with his milestones as quickly as everyone else's babies. I wish I'd have been more chill with Brooklin! I definitely was always rushing her into the next stage. WOrking with her on everything to get her crawling/walking/etc etc. Andrew man, you can take your time!

It seems crazy to even be thinking about another baby right now, but Andrew sure has instilled the baby hunger in me! I know that seems random, but since he's SO GOOD all I can think is "I can't wait to find out if the next one will be as chill as him! And I hope it's a boy!" I know. Crazy town. Often, after I have those thoughts, I calm myself down by wondering if Andrew has a chill personality because our next baby will be a wild child. That thought alone kills the baby hunger on the spot :)
