Bassinet Choice Update AND Trenton sews a dress!!

Ok, so I guess Dan only slept in a drawer for a couple of nights when they were visiting my grandparents. Just thought I'd update. Also - mom just remembered tonight that she actually DID have a bassinet, for the first two anyway but they were only planning on having two kids so they gave away all the baby stuff, and didn't ever replace the bassinet for when BJ and I came along.

Thank you ALL for your experiences and ideas! I think we're definitely going to try and purchase a good deal of a bassinet - (if we have a big enough "master" bedroom in our next apartment we might go for the playpen with a bassinet attachment, but if the room is small we'll definitely try to find a true bassinet)... Unless our baby's room is RIGHT across the hallway from our room, and therefore we could hear their squeals when our doors were open, but we'll see! I guess it mostly comes down to how our apartments is laid out and how big the bedrooms are.

By the way, Trent is sewing a dress right now. It's a pillowcase dress we got from one of the creative blogs on my creative blog lists - I started it but couldn't figure out what one of the instructions was telling me to do so he said here let me see, and now he's sewing a cute little dress! He's too cute. He was like - if I do a good job, will you let our baby wear it? I said of course! So he's doing his best so we can let our baby girl (if it's this one or the next) crawl around in a dress her daddy made her. SO CUTE! I'll go take a picture so you can see him hard at work.

Thanks again for all your help! I'll be asking LOTS more questions. OH and I'm definitely coming by to check out that sleeper thing you were talking about, Marie. Thanks!

well james, you are in luck because i have some baby stuff you can borrow (if you eventually let me use it for my second). I have a swing that I LOVE but Jesse didn't like it after 5 months. You will find it is a lifesaver when it comes to needing to put them down and they still feel safe. Let me go through my inventory of stuff and see what else you can borrow. that is, if you are okay with second hand stuff. Let me know!
