Happy fall!
We have been enjoying the nice fresh fall here, it's only been rainy a few days over the last couple weeks so we've been able to take advantage of the park that's 1 block away from our house. Brooklin LOVES going to the park "with the kids." There's usually a swarm of other kids playing, and she loves socializing while sliding and building pizzas out of wood chips, so it's a perfect combination!
Mackenzi girl is starting to get annoyed at having to stay in my arms while Brooklin gets to run around and play. She wants to get down and play too! But I told her she has to learn how to walk first, otherwise she'll be too distracted by all the wood chips right in front of her face while she crawls, and would therefore probably shove as many as she could into her mouth until I notice what's going on. Yes, I know this because of experience. I have an eater on my hands!
She will be so THRILLED to be able to walk around and play even more with Brooklin someday. I think she's more anxious to learn, too, than Brooklin was, so perhaps it'll happen in the next couple of months. We'll see!
Brooklin is still in diapers, which honestly I don't mind too much - but she's starting to get to be a pill to change when she has a poopy diaper. She gets SO sensitive about everything, even if there's no "ouchy spots" she just doesn't like getting all wiped up I guess. Probably TMI. BUT, I was kind of hoping that she'd be the one to want to start potty training, and I don't know if I'm ready to force her into it since she can be pretty strong willed. I've been reading other peoples' experiences with potty training, and there seems to be so many methods- and so many different outcomes with each of the methods that I've realized it is going to be different for everyone. Which is kind of lame, because it would be so easy to do A, B and C and have the outcome D that you want! Oh well. We'll keep talking about it and showing her the prizes she gets and encouraging her to tell us when she's poopy etc to see if she'll eventually take control of the potty part of life!
Ah!
Alright then, here are the ADORABLE pictures of my cute babies that Papa Ron was able to take for us with beautiful fall leaves in the background. Those leaves are what makes fall so great - seriously the only reason I don't dread fall (which happens becuase that means no more summer) is because I get to look at the masterpiece that God created for us which is showcased in the Northwest Trees of Fall :)
Enjoy!
Love those girls!

Brooklin is getting so big - what a cutie! I am sure you have heard all kinds of advice, but for us, reading children's books (I could recommend the ones we use, if you would like) and having her watch me use the potty (ah, the joys of motherhood) really seemed to help. And if she can see another kid do it, that might also give her an incentive. Good luck - that is a hard phase!
Seriously cute pictures. And in my humble opinion, potty training is what you do when you die if you don't chose the right. Good luck.
oh, man. these girls are my favorite nieces from my lil sis named Jami! I love the new pics and can't get enough!
